Liquid that boils and freezes at the same time.
The liquid above is known as cyclohexane. The video shows it in perfect thermodynamic equilibrium. Scientists have managed to find the substances "triple point" which is the point where (solid, liquid, and gas) coexist in equilibrium from just the precise temperature and pressure exerted on the liquid.
"As the liquid boils, high energy molecules leave the liquid as gas, lowering the temperature of the liquid left behind and causing it to freeze. This process of boiling and freezing continues while the substance remains at this pressure and temperature." Lauren Davis at io9 explains.
I don't know about you but this is pretty amazing.
